1. Take a Trip to Haiti
Second Mile's Group Donor Trip is designed to impact you, your friends, family, church group, co-workers, our organization and the local economy. We provide you with the opportunity to experience Haiti and the wonderful Haitian culture. You will see firsthand the impact that your contribution makes to Second Mile Haiti. Contact us to get a copy of our information pack and begin planning your trip to Haiti today!
“If you come to Haiti to help people that is good, but if you can come to Haiti to help people and for the destination, that’s great.” Want to help Haiti? Act like a Tourist.
Second Mile is only possible because of the kind contributions from people like you. Your support means we can empower women, rehabilitate sick children, and keep families together. There are a lot of reasons to give, and we promise to put your funds to good use. Take a look at our donation page for more information.
3. Start a Campaign or contact your local media
Maybe you don’t have the resources to donate on your own, but are willing to help raise those funds collectively. Or maybe you can help us get our message out there by contacting your local paper and telling them about our work. You could sell bracelets, host a game of capture the flag, run a marathon, host a party with your friends, a trivia night or larger event or participate in a hot dog eating contest as part of “The Second Mile Campaigns”. We can help you with resources and tips for your fundraising event or activity. Register your activity or event now!
4. Follow and Share
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, check out our blog and sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop on all of Second Mile’s latest. When you share Second Mile with your friends, it helps to increase awareness of positive change in Haiti, and shows support in our efforts to empower women and keep families together.
5. BUY 'Tou Natirel' products
If you’re located in Cap-Haitien, you can support Second Mile by purchasing delicious, all-natural and local products such as yogurt, cream cheese, honey, jam and coconut oil from us. All proceeds go towards business investments for the women who graduate the program. Contact us to find out how to get some today! Email- [email protected]
On most occasions, we do not have a need for international volunteers. We prefer to use local contractors and laborers who live and work to make a living right in our own neighborhood (see Our Approach). Occasionally we take "trainers for the trainers". That is, people who specialize in an area pertinent to our work, like lactation consultants, bee keepers, veterinarians, electricians etc. If you would like to offer your expertise in one of these areas we'd love to talk to you!
